Write it out!
Now is the fun part. All of those emotions, feelings, experiences and you have inside of you- share them with your public representative. If they don’t understand your struggle, they can’t fight for you. Let them represent you, by first letting them know how you feel!
While it is best practice to be respectful and professional, as long as you are speaking for yourself, this is your time to speak your truth! -
Send it Off
You can call or email the office of your State Rep or Senator, their emails are rep#@ohiohouse.gov and for Senators it’s their lastname@ohiosenate.gov.
For example- Rep Stewart (12), who is trying to push HB160 to change cannabis laws, can be reached at rep21@ohiohouse.gov and Steve Huffman, who is trying to push SB56, also attempting to change cannabis laws, can be reached at SHuffman@ohiosenate.gov

Follow and Wait
Ohio’s State House calendar is not easy to follow. Committees do not chose their bills to hear the following week until the Friday before.
Unless you have insider information, we all have to wait till Friday to see what bills will be heard.
Interested in following specific bills or committees? Navigate to this website, select the Committee and email the Chair to be added to their mailing list. -
Time to speak up!
The date has been set, and it’s time to submit testimony!
Utilize this guide to aide your writing and submission process, and always feel free to reach out with questions!
